The shopping and entertainment centre Galaxy has been awarded a prize by the Polish Council of Shopping Centres (PRCH) in ‘The Shopping Centre Of The Year – Management and Operations’ category.
The Galaxy centre received the award on October 12th, 2010 in the Warsaw Marriott hotel during the ceremonial gala called ‘PRCH Retail Awards 2010’ organized as part of the annual ‘Retail Horizons 2010’ conference. The jury included 11 experts in development, shopping centre management, lease, architecture and marketing as well as representatives of shopping centre tenants. After carrying out inspections of all nominated centres and a thorough analysis of extensive documentation the award committee made its decision taking into consideration quality, innovativeness and management efficiency.
Galaxy is the most often visited by foreigners shopping centre in Poland (approx. 30 pct clients come from abroad) and the only Polish shopping centre running active marketing operations beyond Polish borders. The centre is constantly present in German and Scandinavian media and enjoys a lot of their interest both with regard to advertising and journalism: German, Scandinavian and British TV stations continue to make programmes and reports about the centre. Galaxy also offers the standard of service which has been adjusted to this situation, the staff working in the shops speak foreign languages and it is possible to pay directly in Euro in most of the outlets.

Polish Council of Shopping Centres (PRCH) is an organization that brings together investors, developers and shopping centre tenants. The association has created the PRCH Retail Awards programme in order to promote the best business practice in Poland in a professional and impartial way. The programme is aimed at developers and facility managers as well as tenants and includes three main categories: the Shopping Centre of the Year, the Retail Concept of the Year and Marketing. PRCH wants to assess best projects in a reliable way and at the same time promote competence, creativity and business efficiency in the shopping centre business line.
