The Art of mindfulness in the heart of Wola: The autumn edition of the artistic steps at Warsaw Breweries
The Art of mindfulness in the heart of Wola: The autumn edition of the artistic steps at Warsaw Breweries

The steps at Warsaw Breweries have once again become a canvas for large-scale art. With the arrival of autumn, the space connecting the Haberbusch and Schiele woonerf with the plaza by the Historical Cellars has unveiled a brand-new visual design. The latest artwork adorning the 17-meter steps was created by visual artist Iryna Korshak, who transformed the city steps into a warm, richly detailed story about the charm of everyday life.

Street art has become an integral part of Warsaw Breweries’ identity, with seasonal transformations of the steps marking the rhythm of the year. Following a vibrant and high-energy summer edition, the time has come for a project that invites visitors to pause, observe, and savor small moments.

A world hidden in details

The autumn artwork was designed by Iryna Korshak - a Ukrainian visual artist and illustrator who currently divides her professional life between Amsterdam and Warsaw, where she lived for 16 years. Korshak has contributed to publications such as The New York Times and The Guardian and is a finalist of the Beijing International Book Fair Illustration Awards 2026. Renowned for pairing minimalist forms with nuanced depth, Korshak focused on the poetry of everyday life for this Warsaw Breweries project. The illustration invites passersby into both an aesthetic and a narrative interaction.

– When creating this piece, I wanted to show people simply having a good time and enjoying an ordinary day. I wanted anyone looking at the steps to be able to follow the small stories unfolding along the way and let their gaze get lost among the details for a moment. I set out to create a vibrant illustration, filled with little scenes waiting to be discovered one after another. Scenes that also encourage mindfulness in children - while they count apples or leaves, parents can enjoy a quiet moment with a cup of coffee, says artist Iryna Korshak.

Art that invites dialogue

The autumn piece seamlessly blends with the seasonal ambiance of Warsaw Breweries - a destination designed for unhurried strolls, catch-ups over specialty coffee, and culinary discoveries across local cafes and restaurants

 - Our steps have become a recognizable Warsaw landmark and a platform for dialogue between artists and the public. We really wanted the autumn edition to bring warmth and a welcoming atmosphere. Iryna Korshak's work captivates with its rich details - it brings a smile amidst the daily rush as you spot each new vignette. We warmly invite everyone to experience autumn at Warsaw Breweries, says Milena Nawrat, spokesperson for Warsaw Breweries.

The new illustration will be on display throughout the autumn season on the steps connecting the plaza in front of Historical Cellars with the complex's main pedestrian walkway at 2 Haberbusch and Schiele Street.
