Letting of areas in the ARENA Shopping & Entertainment Center in Słupsk is coming to an end
Letting of areas in the ARENA Shopping & Entertainment Center in Słupsk is coming to an end

TESCO is the last company on the list of anchor tenants in the ARENA Shopping & Entertainment Center in Słupsk. Following the letter of intent that was executed at the end of May this year, on November 27, 2007 ECHO INVESTMENT signed a contract with TESCO for lease of ca. 8.9 thousand sq. m.

The TESCO agreement practically closes the ARENA project. Presently, nearly 95% of the center’s areas have already been let.

Earlier, in mid-November, ECHO INVESTMENT signed consecutive contracts with clients during the MAPIC International Real Estate Fair in Cannes, France. According to Mariusz Kowalczyk, Commercialization Director of the Malls Department of Echo Investment SA: "We have signed contracts with RESERVED, who leased 600 sq. m premises, STREET SUPER BUTY for 270 sq. m, DIVERSE for 200 sq. m, and THE ATHLETE’S FOOT for lease of 220 sq. m".

TESCO will be the largest tenant in ARENA. The hypermarket to be opened in this shopping center will be the first outlet of this chain in Słupsk and the second one operating in a mall developed by ECHO INVESTMENT – the first store,
12 thousand square meters in size, has been operating in Galeria ECHO of Kielce since 2002.

The ARENA Shopping & Entertainment Center will be built in the center of Słupsk, Grottgera Street,
in the immediate vicinity of the largest housing estates, near the Gdansk-Szczecin route. This is going to be the largest development combining a shopping function with an entertainment function in the region. It is going to offer about
38 thousand sq. m of usable area. It will comprise more than 150 shops and service points.
The entertainment and recreation section is going to offer a 7-screen cinema, a 12-track bowling alley, a disco, numerous cafes and restaurants, and a playground for kids. The customers will be able to use a convenient parking
lot for 1250 cars. The project is going to offer more than a thousand new jobs for the inhabitants of the region. Opening of the ARENA center is anticipated at the turn of 2008 and 2009.

TESCO has been operating in Poland since November 1995. Initially, it was the strategic investor for a chain of Savia supermarkets. The first outlet under the TESCO logo was opened in Wroclaw in 1998. In July 2002, having taken over 13 HIT hypermarkets of Germany, Tesco has become one of the largest retail chains in Poland. In 2005, the company purchased 9 stores of Julius Mainl of Austria. Presently, TESCO employs more than 25 thousand people.
