MUNDO – multifunction complex realized by Echo Investment in Zuglo center, the district of Budapest – entered the cardinal phase of designing. A few companies were engaged into the whole designing process, among them one of the biggest international designing bureaus: Chapman Taylor, Benoy and Laguarda.Low.

On the basis of submitted offers, Echo Investment architects elaborated a programme study of the investment. As a next step, experienced Hungarian bureau RAS ÉPÍTÉSZ KFT prepared an initial architectural concept of the centre’s building. Further designing works shall be carried on by Cracow studio MOFO in co-operation with a selected Hungarian partner – right now negotiations are in progress with a few studios from Budapest.

Echo Investment has been cooperating with MOFO architects for many years. Projects for which Cracow studio elaborated the architecture are, among others: GALAXY in Szczecin, GALERIA ECHO in Kielce and GRUNWALDZKI ARCADE in Wrocław.

MUNDO Centre– first foreign project by Echo Investment
Echo Investment purchased in June of 2006, by way of tender, a plot in center of Zuglo (Budapest district) of the area of 6,8 hectare.
At this aforesaid terrain realization of a multifunction commercial-entertainment-office complex is planned. MUNDO shall in the end become a new center of the district. The value of this investment shall amount to about 150 million Euro. According to the assumptions made, the new centre shall not only be a place for shopping but also a place for meetings, leisure time activities and cultural events organization. It is also planned to place in the complex the mayor office of Zuglo district and also an office park.
The aim of the realized investment is creation of a public place of high landscape and functional amenities for the citizens. In accordance with Zuglo self-government idea, the elaborated project of the centre shall agree with green character of the district and its planned squares, passages and common spaces shall emphasize the public functions of the project.

The commencement of the investment’s realization is planned for the year 2008, its completion for the year 2011, and the value of the whole investment is about 150 million EURO.
Budapest’s and district’s authorities fully support this investment and treat it very seriously. The last presentation of the project for the Hungarian media, which took place on 21st of February of the current year, was attended by: Budapest mayor, Mr. Gabor Demszky and Zuglo district mayor dr Leonard Weinek. The meeting was honoured by attandance of Mrs. Joanna Stempińska, Polish ambassador In Budapest.
