Echo Investment at the CED-INVEST conference
Echo Investment at the CED-INVEST conference

On 30th of May 2007, in Budapest, an annual conference CED-INVEST 2007 took place, devoted to investment possibilities on Hungarian market. During the meeting the present economic situation of Hungary was discussed, as well as new tax regulations, investment possibilities and the commercial real property market.

Mrs. Anna Malarczyk, Business Development Manager from Echo Investment participated in the panel discussion "Selling Points", devoted to issues of  development of new commercial buildings. Anna Malarczyk is responsible for Project MUNDO –  the shopping-office-entertainment center realized in Zuglo, XIVth Budapest district. The participants of the panel discussion talked over the present situation on the market of Hungarian multifunctional centers and also further possibilities and directions of development of this sector of commercial real property.

The talk was also about the influence of modern, multifunctional centers on their surroundings and resulting need for a new approach to architecture, town-planning and functionality of these buildings. The MUNDO project served as an example of a new center of the district which, apart from commercial functions,  accomplishes also important social aims of a town-creative character. Anna Malarczyk emphasized the commitment of the district’s authorities in their co-operation with the developer. “Zuglo authorities realize a sports-recreational complex in the vicinity, and other urban investments are planned in this neighbourhood as well. MUNDO, together with the accompanying buildings shall be in the future a new center of the district, and realization of such an enterprise wouldn't be possible without commitment of all interested sides.  Reference to historical, urban, architectural and social context, incorporating such huge buildings into the existing city tissue, surpasses mere designing, it requires a progressive approach to town-planning and constant co-operation. The district authorities are aware of the changes on the market, of appearing new trends and changing needs of inhabitants. That’s why the future of Zuglo district’s center is forming already today." - said Anna Malarczyk.

The presence of the Polish developer’s representative  was also an occasion to make a comparison of Polish market and particular commercial projects to their Hungarian counterparts. In the "Selling Points" panel, there participated, apart from Echo Investment, also representatives of ECE, ING Real Estate and Segece.
