 Afternoons with Chopin music at Warsaw Breweries

On July 19 and 26, three piano concerts will take place, performed by representatives of Poland in this year's 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition. The recitals will be held in the shade of the trees in the Central Garden of Warsaw Breweries, at 60 Grzybowska Street. Admission is free.

The International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition is one of the oldest and most prestigious music competitions in the world. In the autumn grand final, Poland will be represented by thirteen talented pianists. – Four of them have accepted the invitation to present timeless Chopin music to the audience at Warsaw Breweries. We still have three concerts ahead, and we warmly invite listeners of all ages to attend – says Milena Nawrat, spokesperson for Warsaw Breweries.

Performances will take place on the outdoor stage of Warsaw Breweries.

The event will be held on the premises of Warsaw Breweries, at ul. Grzybowska 60. Admission is free.


Information about the pianists:

Jan Widlarz

He was born in 2002 in Warsaw. A student at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in the classes of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń and Paweł Wakarecy. He is a laureate of the 2nd prize at the Roma International Piano Competition, 3rd prize at the Augustów International Piano Competition, and a honorary medal at the 69th María Canals Competition in Barcelona. He has performed, among others, at Fryderyk Chopin’s birthplace in Żelazowa Wola, the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Warsaw, and at NOSPR in Katowice. He has received scholarships from the Minister of Culture and Arts and the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation. 

Krzysztof Wierciński

He was born on February 22, 2003, in Warsaw. He is currently studying at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Professor Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just. He is a laureate of national and international piano competitions, including: 5th Prize at the XII International Young Pianists Competition "Artur Rubinstein in memoriam" in Bydgoszcz and 3rd Prize at the 51st Fryderyk Chopin National Piano Competition in Warsaw. 

Mateusz Krzyżowski

Graduate of the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music. Winner of numerous competition awards: 1st prize at the International Piano Competition named after I. J. Paderewski in Bydgoszcz (2022); 1st prize at the XII International Young Pianists Competition "Arthur Rubinstein in memoriam" in Bydgoszcz (2021); 1st prize at the Fryderyk Chopin National Piano Competition (2018). In 2021, he represented Poland in the semifinals of the 18th Fryderyk Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw. In recent years, the artist has recorded three albums with chamber music: "Peine et Plaisir" (Requiem Records), "Interwar Retrospections," and "The Most Beautiful Songs" (Sarton Records).

Zuzanna Sejbuk

She was born on August 20, 2005. She is currently studying at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw in the class of Joanna Ławrynowicz-Just. She has been a multiple scholarship recipient of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (MKiDN), and also participated in the Morningside Music Bridge scholarship program in Boston. She is a laureate of numerous national competitions, including the Polish Radio Chopin Competition (Grand Prix) and CEA 2024 (Grand Prix), as well as international competitions: Maurycy Moszkowski "Per aspera ad astra" in Kielce (1st place), Chopin Piano Competition Narva 2020 (1st place), and Jeune Chopin International Piano Competition Lugano 2023 (3rd place).
