ZF TRW, a global automotive supplier, has selected Symetris Business Park – developed by Echo Investment – as the location for its new electronics engineering centre in Łódź. The company has leased nearly 2,400 sq m of space. Experts from JLL advised ZF TRW on the process of selecting the new space.
ZF TRW is a primary developer and producer of active and passive safety systems and serves all major vehicle manufacturers worldwide with an established footprint that includes facilities in more than 20 countries. It maintains 22 technical centers and 13 test tracks in vital markets around the world.
Rafał Zatorski, Director, Electronics Engineering Centre, ZF TRW, comments: “We decided to diversify our locations in Poland. Joining our department located in Częstochowa, which currently employs over 300 specialists, will be our new electronics engineering centre in Łódź which will be launched in May 2017. Ultimately, this project will employ 200 specialists. Our centre in Częstochowa is currently responsible for designing and developing electronic safety systems for the automotive industry. Our organization has a global structure and co-operates with other research and development units throughout the world, including the United States, Germany, Great Britain and China. Currently, we are predominantly looking for electronics engineers and IT specialists. We selected Łódź because of its access to highly-qualified employees and a large number of universities with a technical profile.”
Paweł Milcarz, Senior Leasing Manager, Echo Investment, says: “Following Nordea Bank AB and Philips Polska, ZF TRW is another tenant that has decided to lease modern office space in the phase I of Symetris Business Park complex. Our building met all the requirements of a tenant willing to launch a modern electronics engineering centre in Łódź. This agreement is another crucial step in the commercialization process of our Łódź-based investment. The building of phase I is already 80% leased. Currently, we are conducting development of Symetris Business Park's second building. It will provide the market with an additional 9,500 sq m of office space. Its completion and delivery to market is scheduled for autumn 2017.”
Karol Patynowski, Director of Regional Markets, JLL, adds: “We knew that ZF TRW would require a conveniently located and high-quality office characterized by modern technological and ecological solutions. Initially, ZF TRW considered various academic centres throughout Poland for its location. However, due to future recruitment processes our client decided on Łódź and selected Symetris Business Park.”
