Echo-Archicom Group is achieving further strategic ESG goals

Echo-Archicom Group – one of the largest companies operating in the commercial and residential real estate market in Poland – has published a summary of its sustainability activities carried out in 2024. The Group achieved most of its strategic goals, including a 35% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions. For the first time, it also calculated its full Scope 3 emissions, paving the way for the development of a decarbonization strategy in 2025.

The presented ESG report includes consolidated data from the Group’s leading companies, namely Echo Investment – a commercial developer, and Archicom – a nationwide residential developer. Alongside its 2024 financial results, Archicom also published a separate ESG report focused exclusively on its own operations.

In the joint report, the Echo-Archicom Group described the actions undertaken to mitigate its environmental impact, ensure the safety of employees, clients, and building users, and strengthen good governance standards.

For the second time, the Group's report was prepared in accordance with the standard introduced by the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and for the first time, it underwent assurance, which confirmed its compliance with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).

Sustainability lies at the core of our business. Just like in the key real estate sectors we operate in, we also strive to be a leader in this area. That’s why we continuously strengthen our competencies and actions in the field. Over the past year, we dedicated a lot of effort to the Echo-Archicom 2030 ESG Strategy. We conducted regular reviews of goal implementation, supported managers responsible for executing its various components, and improved our data collection tools and processes. The vast majority of the strategic goals are on track or have already been achieved. That’s why we are reaffirming the Group’s most important goal: delivering only net-zero buildings from 2030 onward,,” said Nicklas Lindberg, CEO of Echo Investment Group.

In 2024, the Echo-Archicom Group reduced its Scope 1 and 2 carbon footprint by 35%. These include direct emissions resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels by the company or arising from technological processes, as well as indirect emissions from the consumption of externally supplied energy.

The latest report also presents the Group’s full Scope 3 carbon footprint, covering all significant sources of CO₂ emissions across its value chain – such as business travel, employee commuting, purchased capital goods and materials, and waste generation. Based on this data, a decarbonization strategy will be developed in 2025.

„Our goal is to redefine the role of the developer as a creator of a sustainable lifestyle. Our projects, which we refer to within the Echo-Archicom Group as ‘destinations,’ are much more than just buildings – they are spaces that respond to the needs of residents and help shape the modern cities of the future. In building these valuable, resilient urban ecosystems, we draw on the rich and diverse experience accumulated within the Group,” says Waldemar Olbryk, CEO of Archicom.

City-shaping projects across Poland

The Group is currently involved in a number of new projects across Poland’s largest cities. These developments follow the “destinations” philosophy—mixed-use investments that promote sustainable transport, green spaces, and urban resilience to climate change. In 2024, such projects accounted for 58% of the Group’s properties under construction and in preparation.

In spring 2025, construction will be completed on Office House in Warsaw (32,000 sq m)—the first building within the multifunctional Towarowa 22 quarter (carried out jointly by AFI, Echo Investment, and Archicom). In Wrocław, the first stage of Swobodna SPOT (16,000 sq m) is under construction, while in Kraków, the mixed-use WITA project combines residential units with over 26,000 sq m of commercial space. Archicom is also developing several projects, including the Modern Mokotów residential estate in Warsaw.
