On 5th of March 1996 Echo Investment celebrated its IPO on the Warsaw Stock Exchange market. Following that event, a publisher of a local newspaper “Echo Dnia” transformed into a real estate development company. Since then Echo Investment became a leader in all major segments of the real estate market and completed almost 200 projects all over Poland.
25 years ago a local newspaper turned into the Warsaw Stock Exchange-listed developer and begun to develop its projects city by city. The company started with one multifamily building in Kielce and since then were able to create almost 200 projects in more than 30 Polish cities. In the last 25 years Echo Investment made its mark on the Polish real estate market that delivered almost 100 residential for sale and for rent projects, 44 office buildings, 33 shopping centers and 16 hotels. In that way, Echo Investment gained the experience and gathered the best team necessary to create “destinations” – large, city-forming projects that are in line with cites’ needs and complement them. The developer’s flagship projects, like Warsaw Brewery and Fuzja, are examples of Echo’s approach to building wisely and responsibly designed fragments of the city.
“From a Kielce-based newspaper, step by step Echo Investment took the lead in every sector of its operations. We built Galeria Echo, the most innovative shopping center in Kielce, we revitalized almost 5 hectares of neglected part of Warsaw’s Wola creating Warsaw Brewery, and we were the first developer in Poland to introduce to the business, both a flex space operator and a residential for rent platform. On top of that we delivered Q22 skyscraper in Warsaw and during last 5 years sold 13 office buildings for nearly 800 mn euro. Our reach history has enabled us to create well-designed, multifunctional “destination” projects that we are known for. Echo Investment is well prepared to continue its growth in Poland, building residential, office and the urban destination developments. We have over 65 projects in the pipeline, with the total estimated usable area of c.a. 1 million sqm., and adding to this potential gained by acquisition of Archicom, our prospects for the future are exciting" says Nicklas Lindberg, CEO at Echo Investment.
During 25 years of its history Echo Investment went through the change of ownership twice and successfully transformed from a long-term holder of completed assets to a pure developer. In 2016, the company created EPP, the owner of shopping centers and offices worth 1.2 bn euro and then introduced it to the stock exchanges in Luxembourg and South Africa. The established in 2016 Strategy of Profitable Growth put a focus on development activity in 7 major Polish cities, and strengthen company’s position as a market leader in residential, office and retail real estate sectors. The Group started to design and build urban ‘destination’ projects, that combine all functions and are well-designed parts of the cities. It has also introduced operation in flex office space as CitySpace and rental apartments as Resi4Rent. Once the purchase of a majority stake in Archicom is finalized, the Echo-Archicom group is to be the largest residential developer in Poland. In the years to come, the company plans to maintain its leadership position and continue delivering large, multifunctional, urban “destination” projects, such as Warsaw Brewery or Fuzja in Łódź, where office, residential, commercial and service spaces are combined with open, green public areas.
