Bank Pekao supports revitalisation of the Warsaw Brewery area held by Echo Investment
Bank Pekao supports revitalisation of the Warsaw Brewery area held by Echo Investment

Bank Pekao granted Echo Investment the loan of EUR 87 million for the construction of Villa Offices and Malthouse Offices - two office buildings being developed at the Warsaw Brewery complex.

Warsaw Brewery is a cohesively designed urban space, connecting offices, apartments for sale and for rent, services and eating places. The project is being developed in the quarter of Grzybowska, Wronia, Krochmalna and Chłodna streets in Warsaw's Wola district. Construction works began in 2016, and only two years later, the first office building and the residential building were put into use. Villa Offices and Malthouse Office offer 46,000 sqm of leasable area in total, their construction began last year and its completion is scheduled for 2020.

“The revitalisation of the Warsaw Brewery’s area to Warsaw is in line with the philosophy of Bank Pekao. By reviving vaulted cellars, a malthouse building, a laboratory or a villa, the project refers to the brewing tradition of this place, linking it with the modernity of office and residential buildings. The rich eating and cultural offer will make Warsaw residents willing to spend their spare time here. We are glad that we can be part of the success of Warsaw Brewery and make our contribution to build such an attractive place” says Tomasz Styczyński, Deputy CEO of Bank Pekao.

“Warsaw Brewery is our great success. We have designed it as a multifunctional quarter of the city, destination place in which people will be eager to live, work and spend their free time. The project was well-received: nearly 600 apartments were sold to individual investors, and the next nearly 450 apartments to the residential for rent platform Resi4Rent. Renowned companies such as L'Oreal Polska, EPAM Systems Polska and WeWork have placed here their headquarters, and talks with other companies are promising. The project will be topped out with the excellent service and restaurant zone, which will bring life and energy to this place. We are glad that this project was also believed by such a prominent financial partner as Bank Pekao” says Nicklas Lindberg, CEO of Echo Investment.

Warsaw Brewery is an area between Grzybowska, Wronia, Chłodna and Krochmalna streets, which will be integrated into the urban fabric by Echo Investment. It will be a unique, open to all city quarter, formed by residential buildings, office buildings and public squares, rest and recreation places, cafes, restaurants and shops. The project is being developed in a place where the Haberbusch and Schiele’s Brewery has operated since the mid-19th century. The revitalisation of this area will breathe new life here and will open it again for Varsovians and people visiting the capital.

The first office building - Gatehouse Offices - was fully leased and commissioned at the end of 2018, and then sold. The construction of the next office buildings will be financed with a loan granted by Bank Pekao. All of them hold a green BREEAM certificate awarded to projects built in accordance with sustainable construction standards. The convenient location of office buildings at the intersection of Wronia and Grzybowska streets provides an efficient connection to all districts of the city - both by public transport and by car. The completion of office buildings is planned for 2020.
