Flagship store with new concept design – DUKA to be another tenant in Galeria Młociny
Flagship store with new concept design – DUKA to be another tenant in Galeria Młociny

Fans of Scandinavian design in the kitchen and dining room will be pleased. A store with kitchen equipment will occupy almost 400 sqm in the shopping and entertainment complex being built in Warsaw's Bielany. One of the biggest stores in the country will be the 74th location of a strong and recognisable Swedish brand. The opening of Galeria Młociny, which is already leased in nearly 90%, is planned in spring of next year.

„The latest flagship store in Bielany will be a great opportunity for fans of designing the kitchen and dining room in Swedish style. The DUKA brand is appreciated by Poles for the fact that next to its permanent offer with a lot of great quality and design, and at the same time practical things, its designers are able to surprise with extraordinary seasonal collections. A distinctive feature of the store in Galeria Młociny is more expanded and wider range of brand products” says Karolina Prędota-Krystek, Senior Leasing Manager at Echo Investment’s Shopping Centre Department.

The decision about choosing Galeria Młociny by the DUKA brand, famous for building up the idea of "Kitchen Life" - to enjoy cooking and culinary experiments - was not chosen at random. Opening stores in the best shopping centres is one of the cores of the development strategy of the network. The location was a really strong argument in favour of Galeria Młociny. The complex is being built right next to Młociny hub - one of the places with the best transport links in Warsaw, with direct access to the underground, numerous tram lines and bus routes, suburban and national buses, a bicycle station and a P&R car park. It is the most important interchange in the northern part of the city and neighbouring towns, which is used by over 24 million passengers every year.

DUKA in Bielany, with new design solutions, will be a perfect complement to a very attractive group of tenants who have already leased more than 80% of the space. Among the tenants representing the interior design and home decoration segmant in Galeria Młociny you can find Zara Home, Homla, Komfort and JYSK. The investor and developer of the project, Echo Investment, from the very beginning is focused on diversifying tenants from each segment, starting from shopping, through services and gastronomy, to entertainment and recreation.

“The DUKA store in Galeria Młociny will be opened on the 20th anniversary of the brand's presence on the Polish market. We debuted with a store in Warsaw two decades ago, which is why we want to make an attractive present for our clients in the form of a modern and friendly store in a new concept” says Aleksandra Gutkowska, Marketing Director at DUKA.

DUKA stores are also known to customers in Sweden, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Bulgaria and Germany.

New, mixed-use centre of Bielany

The place will combine 220 favourite stores and service outlets, comfortable offices, a medical centre, playgrounds, a fitness club, restaurants and cafes, a trampoline park and the first multiplex cinema in the district within a friendly and green area.

Galeria Młociny is distinguished by an innovative approach in the design of meeting places, entertainment and gastronomy. Its restaurant and entertainment space, which occupies the entire +2 floor and is connected with the green roof garden, has been divided into various functional zones. Architects from the renowned Broadway Malyan studio transferred the atmosphere of cosy cafes, street-food and eating out as well as outdoor dining among greenery to Warsaw’s Bielany district. This is the first concept of its kind in Poland.

Galeria Młociny is being developed right next to Młociny hub – one of the places with the best transport links in Warsaw, with direct access to the underground, numerous tram lines and bus routes, suburban and national buses, a bicycle station and a P&R car park. It is the most important transfer location for the northern part of the city and satellite towns and it is used by over 24 mln passengers every year.

Investors of Galeria Młociny are: EPP (70 pct shares) and Echo Investment (30 pct shares). The former company will manage the newly-opened complex. The latter one is fully responsible for the development and lease process.
