The construction of the Q22 office building is nearing completion. The infrastructure of the 155-metre building is a series of technologically advanced modern solutions. They include an innovative system of photovoltaic panels.
The innovative solution, which takes into account the specificity of the building, has been developed by Maybatt. Its uniqueness involves integrating photovoltaic cells with the facade while maintaining transparency i.e. the BIPV (Building – Integrated Photovoltaics) technology. “We would like it to be possible to look at the sky, the clouds and the sun. The panels create a kind of blind, which reduces light access and heating on the one hand and will also be an element of shading,” says Igor Grabiwoda, architect of the Q22 project. Another interesting aspect is the usage of photovoltaics as a source of heat, which makes it possible to automatically heat and clear the modules of snow. See the footage on photovoltaics in Q22 “Q22 is a unique project. It is unique for a lot of industries, including ours i.e. photovoltaics. In order to make the grade and design the system well we had to invent an elegant, innovative and functional system. I strongly believe that we are starting a new era with the project, which will make photovoltaics a regular standard in office buildings,” says Bartłomiej Zysiński, president of the board at Maybatt Sp. z o.o. Q22 is a modern office building to stand 155 m tall over Warsaw"s business centre at the junction of Aleja Jana Pawła II and ulica Grzybowska that offers more than 50 000 sq m of leasable office space. The ground floor of the building will house an elegant and glass-fronted lobby. The premises located on the 14th floor will be used for special purposes, such as e.g. a conference centre and a fitness club, while the 1st floor will accommodate a restaurant. The five-storey underground car park will provide tenants with 348 car parking spaces. Top-quality materials and modern technological solutions are being applied in construction of the building, the result of which is to be a contemporary looking and luminous structure. Q22 is BREEAM certified; it was awarded an Excellent rating with one of the highest scores in Poland in its category (nearly 80%). The design for the building was authored by the renowned Kuryłowicz & Associates architectural studio. The investor and developer of Q22 is Echo Investment. www.q22.com.pl
