A DIY supermarket of the popular Leroy Merlin chain was opened on Legnicka street in Jelenia on April 20th this year.
It is the largest shop with such a comprehensive building and interior design offer in the town. The location of the supermarket with an area of 11,000 sqm, next to Galeria Sudecka (GLA of 31,300 sqm) which was opened last year, creates a unique retail and entertainment concept in the "power center" formula.
“Last year we successfully opened Galeria Sudecka. Apart from its broad fashion and service offer we provided residents of Jelenia Góra with the first and only Helios multiplex in the town as well as a professional Fabryka Formy fitness club. High quality of architecture, functionality and comfort offered by Galeria Sudecka determined its commercial success – we could boast 100-pct commercialization on the opening day. The opening of Leroy Merlin changes the status of our project. From now on, together with Leroy Merlin, we constitute the largest retail, entertainment and service complex in the region, which has a gross leasable area of 42,300 sqm and offers a car park for 1,800 vehilces. It is excellent news for customers who will be able to buy a lot of various products in one place as well as use an attractive entertainment offer,” says Marcin Materny, director of Echo Investment"s Shopping Centre Department.
Leroy Merlin is a chain of DIY shops. The company started its operations in 1923 in France. Since 1979 it has been affiliated with the Association Familiale Mulliez (AFM) family financial group. In 2006 ADEO was established out of AFM"s companies representing the construction industry.
Leroy Merlin started its operations in Poland in 1994 and in 1996 it opened its first supermarket in Piaseczno near Warsaw. Its outlet in Jelenia Góra is the 50th shop of the chain in Poland. The shop offers over 45,000 products and currently employs 152 people.
Galeria Sudecka is located in the Zabobrze district. Its offer includes 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets as well as a multi-screen Helios cinema with a cafe and bar area and a Fabryka Formy fitness club, which is the largest in the town. The facility is 100-pct leased. Apart from a Real hypermarket (which is owned by the Auchan chain), the Helios cinema and the Fabryka Formy fitness club, tenants of Galeria Sudecka include: C&A, Reserved, Carry, Go Sport, Super-Pharm, Empik, Smyk, RTV Euro AGD, House, Mohito, Sinsay, Cropp Town, Diverse, Top Secret, Monnari, Gino Rossi, Vistula, Wólczanka, Simple, Ochnik, CCC, Wojas, Ryłko, Triumph, Lee Wrangler, Big Star, Martes Sport, 4F, Apart, Yes, Ziaja, Gatta, Matras, Vision Express, Szachownica, Reporter Young, Cipo & Baxx, Badura, Orsay, Bytom, Magnetic, Pawo, Aquael ZOO, Prezenciarnia, Jupi Park, Cukiernia Sowa, Thai Restaurant, Kuchnia Polska, Berlin Doner Kebap, Grycan and others.
