The work on the launch of the Leroy Merlin DIY supermarket, which is being developed near Galeria Sudecka in Jelenia Góra, has been launched.

“The launch of the earthwork related to the construction of the first Leroy Merlin DIY supermarket in Jelenia Góra is very good news for dwellers of the town as well as Echo Investment, which opened Galeria Sudecka nearby in spring this year. The offer of the DIY supermarket will complement the retail, service, entertainment and sport functions offered by Galeria Sudecka. I am convinced that the two facilities will have a positive influence on each another. Together with Leroy Merlin we will create a modern complex combined with a convenient car park for 1,800 cars,” says Marcin Materny, director of Echo Investment"s Shopping Centre Department. Leroy Merlin is a chain of DIY shops. The company started its operations in 1923 in France. Since 1979 it has been affiliated with the Association Familiale Mulliez (AFM) family financial group. In 2006 Groupe Adeo was established out of AFM"s companies representing the construction industry.
Leroy Merlin started its operations in Poland in 1994 and in 1996 it opened its first supermarket in Piaseczno near Warsaw. It currently operates 46 shops. Leroy Merlin is also present on the internet. Galeria Sudecka is located in the Zabobrze district. Its offer includes 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets as well as a multi-screen Helios cinema with a cafe and bar area and a Fabryka Formy fitness club, which is the largest in the town.
