Nokia Networks, a global specialist in mobile broadband transmission, has leased 14,000 sqm of office space in the West Gate building, which is being developed by Echo Investment on ul. Lotnicza in Wrocław. Apart from offices its new location will include a research and development centre.
It will be the fourth location of the Nokia Networks Software and Engineering Centre in Wrocław and the third laboratory where research and tests of new telecommunication technologies will be carried out. The laboratory will be equipped with the latest devices including: test simulators, base station prototypes, signal imagining oscilloscopes and the latest generation radio signal spectrum analysers. “Our centre is one of the main technological pillars of Nokia Networks in the world. We need a new location due to our continuous development and staff recruitment. This year we employed app. 750 people in Wrocław and we are looking for more. One of the factors which determined the choice of West Gate was the excellent location of the buildings itself, in the vicinity of our offices. The high standard of the area offered and the possibility of its effective and flexible use were not without importance,” says Bartosz Ciepluch, director of Nokia Networks Software and Engineering Centre in Wrocław. “We are proud that such a renowned company as Nokia Networks chose the West Gate office building for its new location in Wrocław. Global leaders in modern technology are famous for their very high requirements when looking for office space. We are pleased that the West Gate building fulfilled Nokia Networks" requirements to a degree which resulted in the signing of one of the largest contracts on the local market this year,” says Rafał Mazurczak, director of Echo Investment"s Office and Hotel Department.
Nokia Networks is the largest tenant of office space in West Gate. The building will also include a new seat of Deichmann Obuwie Sp. z o.o. (1,200 sqm) and an Enel-Med medical centre (300 sqm) as well as a medical centre operated by K&D Foods (320 sqm).

West Gate is a modern class A building which offers 16,000 sqm of office space. The project is located within the boundaries of the streets: Lotnicza, Na Ostatnim Groszu and Szybowcowa, which guarantees excellent exposure of the building. The proximity of public transport stops and the main traffic arteries of Wrocław provides quick access to the city centre and a very good link to the airport and the A8 motorway ring road. There are numerous service and retail outlets near the project as well as a park and some communal areas. The author of West Gate"s architectural design is the ARCAD architectural studio of Kielce. The facility consists of six above-ground floors (offices) and two underground ones (the car park). It has been designed as an L-shaped compact building. Its facade is dominated by large glazed areas, thanks to which the offices are optimally lit. The office building will be equipped with an access control system, quick and quiet lifts, energy-efficient air-conditioning and ventilation systems, a humidity control system, suspended ceilings, raised floors and an eco-friendly lighting system. There will also be some guarded bike racks, changing rooms and showers for cyclists.
