Bigger retail park in Galeria Sudecka
Bigger retail park in Galeria Sudecka

Echo Investment has won a tender procedure concerning the purchase of investment land next to Galeria Sudecka, which is under construction in Jelenia Góra. The investor will carry out the first stage of a retail park including a Leroy Merlin DIY supermarket and car park for nearly 500 cars.

“The purchase of the investment plot is an important step in the schedule of Galeria Sudecka. According to the schedule Galeria Sudecka including 100 shops, boutiques and service outlets as well as the first Helios multiplex in town and the largest Fabryka Formy fitness club will be opened first. The final stage of the construction of Galeria Sudecka will involve a two-stage retail park development. In its first stage a Leroy Merlin DIY market with a total area of 15,000 sqm is to be built on the above-mentioned plot. In the second stage we are planning to buy another investment plot, where an interior design centre and a large sports operator will be located. The extension of the project results from justified economic optimism regarding the condition and the development prospects of the town as well as its residents" affluence,” says Marcin Materny, director of the Shopping Centre Department at Echo Investment. “I am very happy that Echo Investment acquired another investment plot in our town. The construction of Galeria Sudecka as well as the planned retail park, is an excellent supplement for the Echo shopping centre, which has been operating for many years and constitutes a familiar and important place for residents. It is also an important element of the investment development of Jelenia Góra, which provides for the construction of modern commercial facilities and creating new jobs. It is also worth emphasizing that Galeria Sudecka will offer a long-awaited, modern cinema multiplex to residents of Jelenia Góra,” says Marcin Zawiła, mayor of Jelenia Góra. The plot with an area of over 51,000 sqm is located in the north-east of the currently developed Galeria Sudecka. After the completion of stages 1 and 2 of the retail park, it will have an area of 50,000 sqm. The investor will also redevelop the traffic layout, which will involve extending Sygietyńskiego Street and the construction of a roundabout. It will be the focal point of the traffic layout around Galeria Sudecka in the west and in the north and it will connect with Legnicka Street and a provincial road to Wrocław. In the future the roundabout will constitute a significant element of the western ring road of the town and an exit route to Legnica. Leroy Merlin is a chain of DIY shops. It started its operations in France in 1923. Since 1979 it has been affiliated with the Association Familiale Mulliez (AFM) family financial group. Leroy Merlin started its operations in Poland in 1994 and in 1996 it opened its first outlet in Piaseczno near Warsaw. It currently operates nearly 50 shops.    Galeria Sudecka is being developed in the Zabobrze district at the site of the Echo shopping centre which has been open for over 13 years. It will be the first shopping and entertainment centre in the Jelenia Góra region. The centre is planned to include 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets, as well as a multi screen Helios cinema with a cafe and bar area. The commercialization of the project amounts to 91 pct. Tenants of Galeria Sudecka will include the shops of the LPP group (Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp Town and Sinsay), as well as RTV Euro AGD, GoSport, Martes Sport, Smyk, Empik, CCC, Wojas, Ryłko, 4F, Kubenz, Monnari, Cipo&Baxx, Top Secret, Diverse, Ryłko, 4F, Apart, Ochnik, Triumph, Kubenz, Rossman, Yes, Matras, Świat Zabawek, Wójcik, Giacomo Conti, North Fish, Kuchnia Polska, Grycan, Thai Restaurant and others.  www.galeriasudecka.pl
