Wojciech Chuchała and Sebastian Rozwadowski in a Ford Fiesta R5 were the winners of this year’s edition of Karkonoski Rally, which took place near Jelenia Góra. The team which was sponsored by Galeria Sudecka, among others, won 8 out of 11 special stages, including the spectacular ‘Zabobrze’ stage which ran through the streets of Jelenia Góra, right next to Galeria Sudecka, which is being developed by Echo Investment.
The construction of Galeria Sudecka is progressing on schedule. The contractor of the shell is Eiffage Polska Budownictwo S.A. Finishing work on the ceiling above the car park and the construction of +1 floor are currently in progress. “I am very happy about winning such a demanding rally. The competition was tough from the first to the last special stage. The credit for the top place on the podium does not only go to us, the contestants, but also the partners that support us. Here I would like to particularly thank Galeria Sudecka,” says Wojciech Chuchała. The Karkonoski Rally has been part of the Polish Rally Championship"s schedule since 1989. It is a round which enjoys a lot of popularity among fans from all over Poland. According to organizers this year"s struggle of rally drivers was watched live by 40,000 people. The Echo shopping centre, which is currently being converted to Galeria Sudecka thanks to its extension, has been cooperating with Automobilklub Karkonoski for a few years and thanks to this, fans of motor sport can watch the competition of their idols in the prologue that takes place in "Zabobrze". Wojciech Chuchała"s Ford Fiesta R5 was prepared by Akademia Rajdowa C-Rally of Kielce, which is a new idea in Polish rallies. The project is aimed at helping young contestants in gaining rally experience and supporting the development of their sports careers. The academy provides service of rally cars, technical and logistic facilities as well as support of engineers and sports psychologists. C-Rally is comprised of specialists who have European and Polish vice-champion titles to their credit, which they won during their over 12-year cooperation with the triple rally vice-champion of Europe – Michał Sołowow.
Galeria Sudecka is being developed in the Zabobrze district at the site of the Echo shopping centre which has been open for over 13 years. It will be the first shopping and entertainment centre in the Jelenia Góra region. The centre is planned to include 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets, as well as a 7-screen Helios cinema with a cafe and bar area. The commercialization of the project amounts to 70 pct.
The investor has planned a retail area of 45,000 sqm in the design of Galeria Sudecka. The first one to be built will be a mall including shops, boutiques and service outlets as well as the first in the town 7-screen Helios cinema. The final stage of Galeria Sudecka development will be the construction of a retail park which will include a large format DIY shop, among others.
Its customers will be able to use over 1,800 parking spaces. Tenants of Galeria Sudecka will include the shops of the LPP group (Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp Town and Sinsay), as well as RTV Euro AGD, GoSport, Martes Sport, Smyk, Empik, CCC, Wojas, Top Secret, Diverse, Rossman, Yes, Matras, Świat Zabawek, North Fish, Kuchnia Polska, Thai Restaurant and others.
