Smyk and Empik in Galeria Amber

The biggest shopping and entertainment centre in the Kalisz and Ostrów conurbation will gain two new shops – Smyk with an area in excess of 500 sqm and Empik, which is occupy more than 360 sqm. The opening of Galeria Amber will take place on the 6th of March 2014.

“We are happy the large group of Galeria Amber"s tenants has been joined by the Smyk and Empik brands. They will certainly complement our project"s interesting offer. The commercialization of the facility is nearing the end, we are finalizing the last few contracts, including those with the local entrepreneurs,” says Michał Banasik, leasing manager in the Shopping Centre Department at Echo Investment. Smyk is the largest chain of specialist shops for children in Poland. The chain of the brand currently includes more than 130 shops which are located in the most attractive shopping centres in Poland, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Czech Republic and Romania. Empik is the largest distribution chain of cultural, knowledge and entertainment assets on the Polish market. It has been a fixed element of the cultural landscape of Poland for 65 years. In 190 stores the company offers books, music CDs, films, multimedia and board games, newspapers, home decorations, educational products and toys, as well as tickets for various events. Galeria Amber is a four-storey shopping and entertainment centre which is being developed in the centre of Kalisz, near the main railway and bus stations, at the crossroads of Górnośląska Street and Trasa Burszytnowa. It has a leasable area of 33,500 sqm. The construction of the project is progressing according to schedule. The commercialization of the project is nearing the end and  amounts to 95 pct. Contracts have already been signed with anchor tenants: an E.Leclerc hypermarket, a Helios cinema, H&M, C&A, New Yorker, RTV Euro AGD, Reserved, House, Deichmann, Mohito, Cropp Town,  Sinsay, Matras, CCC, Rossmann, 4F, Adidas, Reebok, Nike, Puma and Lee Wrangler. The facility will have a hypermarket as well as 140 shops and service outlets including cafes and restaurants. There is also a 7-screen cinema planned, the operator of which will be Helios.
