Q22 - new office project in Warsaw from Echo Investment
Q22 - new office project in Warsaw from Echo Investment

Echo Investment is starting the construction of the Q22 155-metre office building which is to be located in the business centre of Warsaw, at the crossroads of Jana Pawła II Avenue and Grzybowska Street.

“We are starting the construction of the tallest and the largest project in the history of Echo Investment. It is a unique project. Not only because of its excellent location but also thanks to an unusual architectural design developed by Prof. Stefan Kuryłowicz. I am convinced that Q22 will set a new standard for business in Warsaw,” says Piotr Gromniak, President of the Board at Echo Investment. The 155-metre Q22 office building which offers nearly 50,000 sqm of office space is being developed at the site of the demolished Mercure hotel. All the materials acquired during the demolition of the building have been recycled – 1,500 tonnes of steel and 25,000 tonnes of concrete aggregate were obtained in this way. The design of the building was created in the renowned Kuryłowicz & Associates architectural studio in cooperation with Buro Happold Polska. Prof. Ewa Kuryłowicz, Kuryłowicz & Associates: “Tall buildings in city centres all over the world are a measure of their ambition and the litmus paper of the technical mastery of their constructors. Erecting a skyscraper in the centre of Warsaw was Stefan"s dream. We developed the design he started so as to provide it with the features of expressive architecture which is visible not only in the silhouette of the city and its historical vedutas, but also in the perspective of Warsaw avenues and the streets of the increasingly well-defined city. Even though its top is in the clouds, Q22 touches the ground softly by opening to the street with a friendly ground floor. It offers areas which are comfortable for working, meeting people and relaxing, all in the spirit of innovation, which has been associated with the project from the very beginning.” Ian Booth, Regional Director, Buro Happold: “We are proud that the Q22 multi-trade integrated design is being developed in our architectural studio. The team of Buro Happold put all their efforts to make the building"s construction and assembly solutions fulfil top international standards for high-rise buildings and to make them sustainable.” Rafał Mazurczak, Director of the Office and Hotel Department at Echo Investment: “The Q22 office building is not just modern office space which is being developed in the business centre of the capital city. It is also a building which is friendly for its users and offers the latest functional solutions, a place which will become a showpiece of every company by emphasizing its prestige. Q22 also offers amenities for its users, including: a restaurant, a fitness area, a car park and locker rooms for cyclists, as well as modern solutions for owners of mobile devices and suitable service areas. Q stands for quality of the design and the construction, Q also stands for the charge which the office building will influence the city with. Finally, Q also stands for quartz i.e. crystal with a clear and perfect structure”. Echo Investment has already acquired a building permit for the construction of Q22. The diaphragm walls and the working platform for the construction work are to be built soon. The general contractor is currently being selected. The launch of the car park construction is planned in September later this year and it will last app. 12 months. The completion of the office building project is planned for Q1 2016. The value of the project is PLN 500 mln.
