The ceremonial launch of a 21-metre fountain officially announced the completion of the redevelopment of the interiors in the Galaxy shopping mall in Szczecin. The premiere, which was combined with an evening of discounts in the shops, was attended by nearly 40,000 residents of Szczecin and the region.

The modernization of the interiors has lasted for over a year and has cost app. PLN 10 mln. The refreshed shopping and entertainment centre is dominated by bright colours. About 13,000 sqm of wall and floor covering has been exchanged. 2,000 LED light points were installed in the mall. The largest fountain in the region featuring modern lighting is the main attraction and the symbol of the modernization. Galaxy is the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the West Pomeranian region. Its leasable area amounts to 42,000 sqm. Galaxy offers 170 shops representing various industries, a multi-screen cinema and a Real hypermarket.  The facility, which has been designed by the OTH architectural studio, was opened in 2003. In 2010 the facility obtained an award from the Polish Council of Shopping Centres in the "Shopping Centre of the Year – Management and Operation" category. In May earlier this year the facility received a BREEAM In-Use ecological certificate. www.galaxy-centrum.pl
