The first Real hypermarket in Jelenia Góra was opened on the 14th of March. It is also the first stage of Galeria Sudecka, which will be the largest shopping and entertainment facility in the Jelenia Góra region.
Echo Investment"s project involves the redevelopment and extension of the Echo shopping centre on Jana Pawła II Avenue, which has been there for over 12 years. “We have completed the first stage which involved the modernization of the existing part as well as exchanging the hypermarket operator. The opening of the Real hypermarket enjoyed a lot of interest among residents of Jelenia Góra and its immediate area. The next stage of the project will involve the extension of the Echo shopping centre. First we will build a shopping arcade with shops, boutiques and service outlets, as well as the first in town 7-screen Helios cinema. The final stage of Galeria Sudecka will involve the construction of a retail park, which is to include a large format DIY shop, among other things,” says Marcin Materny, director of the Shopping Centre Department at Echo Investment. The investor is planning to build a retail area of 45,000 sqm in Galeria Sudecka. Customers will be able to use 1,800 parking spaces. Tenants of Galeria Sudecka will include shops from the LPP group, which will occupy a combined area of 3,500 sqm, as well as GoSport, which will have a shop with an area of 1,350 sqm. “On the 14th of March we opened the first Real hypermarket in Jelenia Góra, which is part of the first stage of Galeria Sudecka. Our chain puts a lot of emphasis on competitive prices and even on the opening day it was clear to see that our customers are eager to use our offer,” says Hanna Turkiewicz, director of the Real hypermarket in Jelenia Góra. Galeria Sudecka is being developed in the Zabobrze district, in the north-eastern part of Jelenia Góra. Its proven, existing location, the offer of 100 shops and service outlets, as well as its well-promoted brand predispose the project to be a regional centre, which will probably also be frequented by visitors from abroad due to its unique location. Echo Investment also has a permit for the building of a road project including the construction of a roundabout which will constitute the focal point of the road layout, the so-called ring road of the town, which will surround the facility from the West and the North and join Legnicka Street and the road to Wrocław.
