Echo Investment won the Retail Lease of the Year category in the Romanian edition of the CIJ Awards. The award concerns the lease of retail space in the Korona shopping and entertainment centre in Brasov to Carrefour.
The award was presented on the 6th of December earlier this year during a gala which took place in Bucharest. CIJ Awards is a competition which is organized by the prestigious Construction & Investment Journal. The awards were granted to the best companies and projects on the Romanian property market.
In October earlier this year Echo Investment and Carrefour signed a lease contract concerning retail space in the Korona shopping and entertainment centre in Romania. Consequently a Carrefour hypermarket with an area of approx. 8,500 sqm is to be opened in the Korona mall. The contract opened the commercialization process of the biggest shopping and entertainment centre in the Brasov region. The signing of the contract concluded by Echo Investment and Carrefour took place in cooperation with Jones Lang LaSalle Romania.
Korona is a modern, multifunctional entertainment and shopping centre. In the first stage of the project the space of 35000 sqm was allocated to shops, service outlets, restaurants, entertainment area and 7-screen cinema, the next stage will provide additional 10 000 sqm of retail area. The clients of Echo will have minimum 1400 parking places. Conceptual design study of Korona was prepared by Bose International Planning & Architecture.
The Centre is planned to be built in the first half of 2013, and completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
