Echo Investment and Carrefour have signed an agreement concerning the leasing area in Korona entertainment and shopping centre in Brasov in Romania. According to the agreement, in Korona there will be Carrefour hypermarket of the area of about 8 500 sqm. The signed agreement starts the process of commercialization of one of the biggest entertainment and shopping centres in the region of Brasov.
“The agreement with Carrefour – a renowned, international chain operator inaugurates the process of leasing the retail area in Korona - the biggest entertainment and shopping centre in Brasov. Currently, we are negotiating with the most important fashion brands. The investment is on the advanced level of the administrative process, and soon we are starting the talks concerning its financing. Signing the agreement with the key lease company is of significant importance for the development process. What is more, it is a vital signal confirming better condition and mood of the market” emphasizes Marcin Materny, the director of Shopping Centre Department – Foreign Projects in Echo Investment. The agreement between Echo Investment and Carrefour was signed in cooperation with Jones Lang LaSalle Romania.

Korona will be the first truly modern 3rd generation shopping and entertainment center in city and will provide a completely different experience to its customers” added Andrei Vacaru, Head of Retail Consultancy at Jones Lang LaSalle, who acted as the advisor of Echo Investment in concluding this transaction.

Korona is a modern, multifunctional entertainment and shopping centre. In the first stage of the project the space of 35 000 sqm was allocated to shops, service outlets, restaurants, entertainment area and 7-screen cinema, the next stage will provide additional 10 000 sqm of retail area. The clients of Echo will have minimum 1 500 parking places. Conceptual design study of Korona was prepared by Bose International Planning & Architecture.
The Centre is planned to be built in the first half of 2013, and completed in the fourth quarter of 2014.
