Mayor of Bełchatów at construction site of Galeria Olimpia
Mayor of Bełchatów at construction site of Galeria Olimpia

On 27 September the construction site of Galeria Olimpia was visited by Marek Chrzanowski, Mayor of Bełchatów. The biggest shopping mall in the region, which is being developed by Echo Investment, is to be opened in November later this year.

Mayor Chrzanowski watched the last stage of work at one of the biggest construction projects to have been developed in Bełchatów. “It is clear to see that Galeria Olimpia is nearly ready. I am glad that we as the authorities of the town have prepared everything in a way which has made it possible for this facility to be built in Bełchatów. I think that all the residents of Bełchatów are waiting impatiently for the November opening. It is worth emphasizing that apart from the popular global brands, Galeria Olimpia will also include shops and service outlets of local entrepreneurs,” says Marek Chrzanowski, Mayor of Bełchatów. The construction of the external road layout around Galeria Olimpia in Bełchatów was finished in the middle of September. The project, which involved the construction of a roundabout at the junction of Armii Krajowej Street and an internal road leading to the mall, was developed according to schedule. The new road layout, which is based on the roundabout, will make the traffic around Galeria Olimpia considerably smoother and will positively influence the quality of transport in this part of the town. ***
Galeria Olimpia is being built on a plot neighbouring the Echo shopping centre, which has been operating on the market for over 12 years. Galeria Olimpia and the neighbouring Echo shopping centre will create a functionally connected retail and service complex with a gross leasable area of 32,900 sqm. It will include two hypermarkets: Tesco and Carrefour which has been operating in the Echo shopping centre, as well as a Nomi DIY shop. A multi-screen cinema of Helios, the biggest cinema chain in Poland, will also be opened. The shopping centre will include 85 shops such as: H&M, Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp, New Yorker, Orsay, Martes Sport, RTV Euro AGD, CCC, Deichmann, Rossmann and KFC. Its underground and ground-level car parks will offer a total of 1,050 parking spaces. The general contractor of the facility is Polimex – Mostostal SA. The construction work started in June 2011 and is progressing according to schedule. The design of the centre has been developed in the MOFO Architekci architectural studio. www.galeriaolimpia.com.pl
