Launch of Galeria Sudecka
Launch of Galeria Sudecka

Echo Investment has signed an agreement with the authorities of Jelenia Góra concerning the development of Galeria Sudecka – the first shopping and entertainment centre in the region.

The agreement stipulates deadlines for completing the construction work on the facility and the redevelopment of the road layout around Galeria Sudecka. The scope of Echo Investment"s work involves the construction of a road including a roundabout. It will constitute the traffic layout surrounding the facility from the west and the north, as well as joining Legnicka Street and the provincial road to Wrocław. In the future the roundabout will constitute a significant element of the western ring road of the town and the exit route to Legnica. The authorities of Jelenia Góra adopted the local zoning plan on 23 August earlier this year. The construction design of Galeria Sudecka is nearing its completion. The investor is planning to apply for a building permit within 60 days. “The agreement signed with the town authorities is a very important step in the development of the biggest shopping and entertainment centre in the Jelenia Góra administrative district. We are very satisfied with the successful cooperation, thanks to which the implementation of Galeria Sudecka is proceeding according to schedule,” says Marcin Materny, Shopping Centre Department Director – Foreign Projects in Echo Investment. The commercialization of Galeria Sudecka runs very smoothly. The investor has signed agreements with various companies including the Real hypermarket chain, which is to replace the Carrefour hypermarket that operates in the Echo shopping centre, and Helios – there will be a 7-screen cinema in Galeria Sudecka. A contract has also been signed with the Go Sport chain. “Advanced negotiations are currently pending with some of the most popular clothing chains such as: Inditex, H&M, LPP, New Yorker as well as the RTV Euro AGD chain and Empik Media & Fashion. There is a lot of interest in the first shopping and entertainment centre in the Jelenia Góra administrative district,” emphasizes Karolina Prędota, Leasing Manager in Echo Investment. ***
Galeria Sudecka will be built in the Zabobrze district, in the north-east part of Jelenia Góra. The facility is to be developed as a result of an extension of the Echo shopping centre on Jana Pawła II Avenue. Galeria Sudecka will be the first shopping and entertainment centre in the Jelenia Góra region. Its excellent location, the offer of 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets as well as its well-promoted brand predestine the project to the role of the regional centre, which due to its unique location will certainly be visited by guests from abroad. The new facility will have a total area of 53,000 sqm. Its retail area will amount to 30,000 sqm. The centre is planned to include 100 shops, restaurants and service outlets as well as a7-screen Helios cinema with a cafe and bar section. There will also be a new underground car park – customers will have a total of 1,200 parking spaces at their disposal. The launch of the project is planned for the spring of 2013. Galeria Sudecka is to be opened in the spring of 2014.
