The KFC chain is to appear in Galeria Veneda which is being developed by Echo Investment in Łomża and Galeria Olimpia in Bełchatów. They will be the first KFC outlets in these towns.
KFC is one of the biggest catering chains in the world. The company was established by Harland Sanders who features in the logo of the brand. The first bar called Sanders Court & Cafe was opened by him in 1930 in North Corbin, Kentucky. The outlets got their current name in 1952.
The international KFC chain includes almost 15,000 outlets, which serve nearly 12 million customers every day. There are over 150 of them in Poland.
“We are very happy that the first outlets of the KFC chain in Łomża and Bełchatów will be located in our facilities. They will certainly extend the catering offer of both shopping malls,” says Mariusz Majkowski, Senior Leasing Manager in Echo Investment.

Galeria Veneda is a shopping centre which is being developed in Łomża at the junction of Zawadzka and Sikorskiego streets. The facility has a total area of 40,000 sqm, nearly 16,000 sqm out of which has been allocated for lease. The project also includes a car park offering 600 parking spaces.
There will be 80 shops and service outlets in the shopping mall. The investor has signed contracts with Tesco Extra, RTV Euro ADG, Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp, Orsay, Rossmann, CCC, Martes Sport, Kari, Grycan, Apteka Pod Różą, Matras, Artimex, Kwiatoteka. Galeria Veneda is already 80-pct leased.
Completion of the construction work is planned for Q4 2012. The architectural project of Galeria Veneda was created in the Mąka Sojka Architekci architectural studio of Warsaw in cooperation with Echo Investment"s team of architects.

Galeria Olimpia is being built in the area of Armii Krajowej and Kolejowa Streets in Bełchatów on a plot neighbouring the Echo shopping centre, which has been operating on the market for over 11 years. Galeria Olimpia and the neighbouring Echo shopping centre will create a functionally connected retail and service complex with a gross leasable area of 32,200 sqm. It will include three hypermarkets: Tesco as well as Carrefour and Nomi, which have been operating in the Echo shopping centre. A multi-screen cinema of Helios, the biggest cinema chain in Poland, will also be opened.
The shopping centre will offer a total of 85 shops, including: H&M, Reserved, House, Mohito, Cropp, New Yorker, Orsay, Martes Sport, RTV Euro AGD, CCC, Deichmann and Rossmann. Its underground and ground-level parking garages will offer a total of 1,050 parking spaces.
The general contractor of the facility is Polimex-Mostostal SA. The construction work started in June 2011 and the opening of Galeria Olimpia is to take place in November 2012. The design of the facility was created in the MOFO Architekci architectural studio.
