The accomplishment of the first phase of Echo Gallery development – opening of a multi-level car park
The accomplishment of the first phase of Echo Gallery development – opening of a multi-level car park

On 26 of August 2009 the multi-level car park of Echo Gallery shall be opened for customers of the center.

The car park is the first phase of expansion of Echo Gallery. Works connected with it began in the third quarter of 2008 and lasted 10 months. Approximately 1 500 parking places are situated on the area of more than 48 000 sq. m. which, together with the car park situated under the center, gives the total number of 2 300 parking places. At every storey there are 4 places for handicapped persons. Small buses may park in the part of the new car park designed especially for them, and for buses arriving at the Gallery, an external square has been designated.

Each of the seven storeys has the area of approximately 7 000 sq. m. (equalling approximately the area of a football pitch, or for example the area of the Korona Kielce Stadium). The car park has a very legible communication layout – the whole traffic moves on ramps at its circumference and each of the levels is marked with a different colour. The design of the visual information was prepared by experts from the design studio „Kontekst”, and its elements were constructed by the company „Ergo”.

Almost 14 500 square meters of concrete (which corresponds to the capacity of approximately 5 000 containers in which conrete is carried) were used to built the car park.

Users of the car park have at their disposal two personal elavators and a staircase. The car park was separated from the adjacent plot by a 200-metre long acoustic screen, with a special construction for creepers. The whole of this scetion was planted with evergreen ivy.

The total cost of the investment amounted to approximately 60 000 000 PLN.

At present – within the confines of realization of another phase of the center’s development - works are being continued connected with the sports hall for Kielce University of Technology.

The next phase of expansion of the Gallery shall commence in January 2010.
The opening of the new Echo Gallery is planned for the Ist half of 2011.
