Towarowa22 in Warsaw and Fuzja in Łódź are the only projects from Poland to be included among the finalists of the prestigious MIPIM Awards 2025 real estate competition. They will compete in Cannes in the categories of Best Urban Regeneration Project and Best Mega Development.
The MIPIM Awards is an annual competition held alongside the largest international real estate fair in Cannes. The award has gained a reputation as the architectural Oscar. This year, Poland is represented by two projects developed by the Echo-Archicom Group: Fuzja in Łódź and Towarowa22 in Warsaw, with AFI Europe as a co-investor.
"We are pleased that vibrant places designed by Polish architects and developed by leading companies in the Polish market are recognized globally. Two nominations for destination projects are a significant success for our Group and its partners, confirming that our development strategy is correct," says Nicklas Lindberg, CEO of Echo Investment Group.
Fuzja is competing for the award in the Best Urban Regeneration Project category. Designed by the Medusa Group architectural studio on the site of the former textile factories of Karol Scheibler, it has revitalized this part of Łódź with a rich cultural, entertainment, and gastronomic offer. It also serves as a comfortable place for living and working, with inviting public spaces and plenty of greenery. Ultimately, 22 buildings will be constructed over an 8-hectare area, of which 15 are historical structures.
"Fuzja is an ideal example of urban regeneration based on inclusivity, sustainable development, and an innovative approach to city planning. Just the nomination and the opportunity to compete with exceptional projects from across Europe is a significant honor for us," emphasizes Waldemar Olbryk, CEO of Archicom.
Towarowa22, developed by AFI Europe Poland, Echo Investment, and Archicom, has been nominated in the Best New Mega Development category. This new urban block is rising on the site of a former printing house in Warsaw's Wola district and is one of the largest projects of this type currently being developed in Europe. The diverse architecture of the buildings, which includes both office and residential complexes, as well as attractive surrounding spaces, has been meticulously designed by JEMS Architekci. The central feature of this location will be a 2-hectare park with a restored pavilion of the Polish Word House.
"Towarowa22 is a project where the practical dimension of ESG ideas and city planning from the perspective of various users are prioritized. The nomination is a source of pride for all companies involved in this endeavor and indicates the directions in which the real estate market is heading worldwide," comments Sebastian Kieć, CEO of AFI Europe Poland.
The MIPIM Awards will be presented on March 13 of this year in Cannes. The list of finalists includes 40 projects from around the world, nominated in 10 categories.
